No Bath Tonight.....Yeah Right!

As Hannah was finishing up her dinner I started to clean up the kitchen and thought to myself that I am not going to give Hannah a bath tonight.  It was getting kinda late and I was pretty tired from the day.  Hannah must have heard my thoughts (she really likes bath time), because I turned around to see this:
And of course out of all things we were eating spaghetti tonight.  What was I thinking not giving a toddler a bath after eating spaghetti anyway????

Needless to say we went straight for the bath tub.  In case you are wondering it is not easy to get tomatoe sauce out of hair. I had to wash her hair 3 times and I feel like there is still a red shimmer :)

Thankful Thursday

I was reading my friend Jen's blog earlier and it made me take a step back and think about all of the things I am thankful for.  I don't even know where to begin......I feel very blessed.  I am most thankful for my family.  Both immediate and extended.  I have an amazing husband and precious daughter that I am thankful for and I would do anything for them.
I have wonderful parents that have always supported me in everything I do.  It is tough to be so far away from them and it has gotten even harder since having Hannah, but on the other hand it has made us even closer. I am thankful for skype and low phone rates to Germany!  I am thankful for my husbands family who has always treated me like one of their own.  They are all pretty far away as well, which is hard, but since he has a big family we consistently get to see somebody from his family.  We are going up to Kansas City this weekend for the Chiefs game and we will get to see some members of Scott's family.  I am looking forward to that.  I am thankful to be a stay at home mom.  It is the most rewarding and most challenging job all at once.  I wouldn't want it any other way.  I feel very fortunate that I get to spend this precious time with Hannah and that I don't have to miss a single thing........and lately there are a lot of things I can't miss, because she has become a little daredevil.  She wants to climb on everything and stand on everything with no hands.  She has also figured out how to open all doors including the front door and she tries to escape quite often!
This makes me smile all day long (she really likes the trampoline at Gymboree class)!
What are you thankful for?

Fall Parties

Hannah has already been to two Halloween/Fall parties and Scott and I have not even been invited to a single party yet.  Ha!  That is how much our lives have changed.  Our gym hosted a parents night out on friday night with a fall party theme.  Hannah had a good time playing with all the other kids while we enjoyed a nice and quiet dinner at Bonefish.  Saturday morning we attended the Hip Mamas Halloween picinc at the park.  Hannah wore her costume for the first time!  It is really cute on her, but she does not like to wear the hood.
Hannah makes a cute puppy dog

The ladies did a great job organizing the party.  We enjoyed some playtime on the playground, coloring, decorating a pumpkin, lots of food and a treat bag.
Going down the slide with daddy
Playing in the beautiful leaves.
Coloring with daddy
Lots of kids decorating pumpkins with stickers.
Somehow stickers always end up on Hananh's face.
The finished product.
Hurry up and take the picture mommy.....this pumpkin is getting heavy!
Hannah has two more parties to attend to this week.  Have a great week.

Hannah's Kingdom

I am participating in Show Us Your Life-Nurseries and Kids rooms over at Kelly's Korner.  I have been wanting to "document" Hannah's room for a while now, so this was a perfect opportunity.  I still love Hannah's room and I wouldn't do it any different if I had to do it over.  No "decorators/buyers remorse" here.
This is a view from the door
I wish Hannah would like her crib as much as I like it.  I painted the two flower paintings the week before she was born.
I still rock Hannah to sleep in the glider.  I know I have created some bad habits, but it is one of my favorite times of the day (because she normally won't sit still).
I love the furniture we got.
The pictures on the wall are baby pictures of Scott and I
The closet......it needs some organizing.
I hope you are having a great weekend.

Fun In The Sun

We went on a weekend trip to Orlando and had some fun in the sun.  My mom flew down to Orlando with us and went back home to Germnay from there.  Scott had to go to Orlando for work and we decided to tag along.  My mom and I took Hannah to Sea World both days and she LOVED it.  It was so fun to experience the park through Hannah's eyes and I missed most of the shows, because I was just watching her.  Her favorite was the Shamu show followed by the Dolphins show and the splash park.  It is really hard to capture her excitement in pictures.  I wish I would have had my video camera, but of course that was sitting at home.  Hannah was clapping, laughing, cheering, pointing and talking the entire time during the shows.

The carousel was pretty fun too.
Splashing around

Saturday was the Halloween Spooctacular.  Hannah really liked the pumpkin characters.
Oma and Hannah
The Dolphin show was my favorite
My friend Hellen and her husband and sweet daughter Gracyn met us Saturday evening.  Gracyn just turned 2 years old and Hannah was trying to copy everything she did.  Gracyn was giving Hannah lots of hugs and kisses.
The Penguin exhibit was really cool :)
We had a wonderful time in Orlando.  It was also able to see my friends Mike and Kelly and Tabitha.  It was great to catch up with all of them.
Have a great week

Mule Jump And A Little Bit Of This And That

Last weekend we went to the Pea Ridge Mule jump.  We have been wanting to go to this event for a long time....it sounded very interesting and it didn't disappoint.  It was a great place to people watch. The jump is not a running jump, but is made from a standstill.  Mules can jump sixty to sixty-six inches high. We did not stay long enough to see the big boys jump that high.  In case you are wondering a Mule is a cross of a donkey (dad) and a horse (mom).    If you are interested you can see the winning jump from 2005 HERE

Daddy and Hannah at the Mule Jump
We took the boat out one last time on Sunday.  It was a beautiful afternoon and I loved the peace and quiet out on the lake.  Hannah loves to drive the boat, but she is not a big fan of the life vest.  Now it is time to winterize the boat.  I can't wait for next seaon!
We have been going for a lot of walks since my mom has been here.  Hannah took quite the dive the other day when she was looking between her legs (almost like she is trying to do a somersault).
This was before her fall
Now you can see the scratches on her face.   And to make things worse I banged her in the head with a door the next day. She looked pretty beat up :(
Hannah and Grandma
Scott decided to bake some sugar cookies from scratch the other day.  He worked on them for two days.  They turned out really good.  He is looking forward to making this a tradition and baking them with Hannah every year for Halloween.

My mom and I took Hannah to a pumpkin patch yesterday.  Hannah enjoyed the hayride and picking out her own pumpkin.
Have a great weekend!
