Once Again....

....I am really behind on this blog.  We have been very busy enjoying the pool during this hot weather, started swim lessons, went on a weekend trip to Branson, celebrated several birthdays, went to lots of park playdates, went to dance and gymnastics, had the last day of school and have been working on finishing the house.  I have been really bad at taking pictures and if I dont have pictures I don't blog about it :)

I am going to recap our weekend trip to Branson.  We shared a condo with Debbie, Dan, Simon and Oliver.  We spent a day at Silver Dollar City and had a great time.  We picked a perfect time, because it was not too crowded yet and not too hot.
Hannah was barely big enough to ride the swings by herself.  She stood on her tippy toes when they measured her, but she did not need to do that.  This was one of those defining moments for me again when I realized that she is growing up way too fast.  She can now go on a ride all byherself, next thing I know she will be driving a car.
Then we enjoyed some rides with Simon
I got in on the fun too.....
And of course we had to end the day with some ice cream.....but getting three kids to look at the camera while eating ice cream is impossible.

We have completed two weeks of swim lessons.  I am so excited that we are doing this.  Danae comes to our house to teach Hannah, Simon, Oliver and her son Dax.  We can already see some nice improvement after a couple of weeks.  Hannah is turning into a fish.  She loves to be in the water and has no fear.  She loves to jump in and put her head under water.  Diving for the rings is her favorite part of swim lessons.

Here are a few more things Hannah has said that I don't want to forget.

I took Hannah to chick fil a for lunch last week and the parking lot was jammed.  I was trying to get around the cars that were in the drive thru to get to a parking spot.  After I successfully parked the car Hannah said: "  Good job Mama,  I so proud of you".  Well, thank you!

Yesterday she was spinning around in her dress and she said "Mama, this is making me busy"

She has been saying that she is a princess, Mama is a princess and Daddy is a kangaroo......no idea where that came from.

I love it when she sings in the car.  She is really good at making up her own songs.  She loves to sing Baby Baluga and it goes like this: "Baby Baluga swim so wild and swim so free, see the world, little white whale on the goat"

Hannah-isms

I always think that I am going to remember all of the funny things Hannah says, but then I realize that a few hours later I already forgot most of it.  So, this weekend I made it a point to write down some of the things that make us laugh.

We were driving in the car and I hear from the back "Mama you gotta watch me be funny" as she was making funny faces.

We were playing outside and both Scott and  were heading inside to get something and she said "Oh oh my friends are leaving me"

She likes to say "Oh dear" when something is not right.

She also has a great imagination and has some imaginary friends.  Not sure at what point I should worry about this :). Ha!  She likes to watch the show Olivia and now she talks about "my brother Ian" all the time and her friends "Julian and Francine" are coming over to play.

When we have a dance off she says "good move".

It was my birthday this weekend and Hannah kept telling me that she is going to put her princess dress on, her princess shoes and she is going to dance for my birthday and I have to clap.

Scott ate some of Hannah's fruit of her plate and Hannah got really mad.  She said "Don't do that.  You are in a time out" and she sent him to sit in the corner.  I think we are going to be in trouble!

Hannah wanted to play in the car last night and Scott stayed with her to play for a while.  She refused to get out of the car and Scott was getting a little tired of it.  I walked out and he told me "she is driving me nuts, because she is refusing to get out of the car and it is getting really hot in here".  I asked Hannah if she wanted to help me water the flowers and she got out.  As she was helping me she said "Mama you are driving me nuts".  What?????  I don't think she had any idea what she was saying, but we really need to watch what we are saying around her.

Some of her favorite German sayings are "das geht nicht" and "das schmeckt gut".

Catching Up

We took the boat out last weekend, so in my books it is officially summer.   It was a beautiful day and we had a great time with friends out on the lake.  I look forward to the first boat outing all winter long.  After taking the boat out we stopped at Tony C's for dinner.  This has become kind of a tradition to stop there after taking the boat out.  It is such an intesting place, but the food is very good.

Hannah has been talking about ghosts a lot and she has been scared of the dark.  I am not sure why she is afraid of them, but I do know that at school all the kids pretend that ghosts and monsters are chasing them on the playground, so I am sure that has something to do with it.  I also have to leave the light on in her room at night, because she is so afraid.  I am hoping this is just a phase and that she will get over it soon.  I also believe that she has had some nightmares lately.  She was up for a while Monday night and we had a hard time calming her down.  The next morning she did not want to go to school.  I have never seen her so upset.  When we asked her why she didn't want to go to school she said that there are ghosts at school.  We could tell that she meant it, so Scott said that he would take her for the morning, so I could still get some stuff done.  He took her to the Naturals Baseball game......I was kind of hoping he would just take her to his office and she would be bored all morning, so that she would want to go back to school on Thursday. Ha!
Hannah also had another hair cut last week.  I took her to the kids place in Fayetteville.  She got a sucker, so that she would sit still and she was in heaven.  I think this little girl would do anything for a sucker.  She did great!  I only had them cut off a little bit and shape it up.  Her hair has gotten so long and I wish she would let me put it in a ponytail or pig tails more often.  I am sure if I bribed her with a sucker she would let me. Ha!

We spent a wonderful weekend in Branson with Debbie, Dan, Simon and Oliver.  We went to Silver Dollar City, celebrated my birthday and Mothers Day.  I will have more details on that next time.
Have a great week.

Who Knew Filling The Pool Would Be This Much Fun

Wow, I have really neglected the good ole blog lately.  I have been really busy enjoying the beautiful weather, hanging out with my (almost) 3 year old princess and getting the house fully unpacked and decorated.  Part of me feels like I have been on vacation since the move......we are taking full advantage of being downtown and being able to walk everywhere, we sit on the front porch and have a drink and we are now enjoying the pool.  Filling up the pool was quite exciting and Hannah went right in (stripped down to her underwear).
I don't remember how many hours later this was, but total time was about 28 hours to fill the pool......I am not ready to see that water bill!
Matt and Milo did the "Polar Plunge" while the pool was still filling.....and of course Hannah is back in it too and the cold water does not seem to bother her.
Hannah was the entertainment of the night again (she calls herself the entertainment now) and danced for us.

Then she decided to be the dance teacher and do an entire class with me, Casey and Kristin.  Only a three year old can get adults to act like fools!  We must have looked quite funny if anybody was watching.  At least I know she is paying attention in dance class.  She repeated everything her teacher says (except she was a lot more bossy): "Good job sweetheart", "Now it's your turn", "Stand right here and hold her hand", "Now you get stamps"......she even pretended to change the music.  Thank you Casey and Kristin for being good sports about it!
I love this picture
We turned on the heater today and it was finally warm enough for me to get in to.  I have a feeling we are going to spend a lot of time in the water this summer.
