Cheers To A Healthy Heart

Evan had his 6 months cardiology appointment today and it went really well.  The echocardiogram (ultrasound of the heart) looked well.  The Dr called his heart function normal and everything measured in the normal range (one of his walls is still a little thickened, but it is still within a normal range).  We are able to wean him off his last blood pressure medication over the next week. We will have to get his blood pressure checked once a week again to make sure it remains stable.  We are also able to stop the baby aspirin as well.  It was a great appointment and we are just so thrilled with these news.  It is a huge relief to us and we are very thankful.

We don't have to go back to the cardiologist for 6 months. The nice doctor said we could come back in 3 months if we would feel better about that and needed the reassurance ( I really appreciated that and it shows once again how awesome the doctors are at ACH).

We went out to eat tonight to celebrate and had a bottle of champagne.  We finally felt like we can toast to a healthy heart and it felt so good!
We are so proud of this little guy!
Now if we could only get him to sleep well at night all would be good.

  1. Such great news! I am going to have to play catch up and read back through about his heart. Thankfully that's one specialist we didn't end up with after Hew and Hollyn were discharged from the NICU. I'm so happy that y'all got good news!
