It's A Girl

Nora Grace finally arrived on November 13th at 2:27am.  She was a healthy 8lbs 9oz and is 21 inches long.  I am so glad I went into labor the night before I was supposed to be induced.  I told Scott around 7:30pm that I don't want to go into labor tonight, because I was really tired, but tomorrow morning would be good.  It wasn't even 15min later and labor began.......we got to the hospital around 9pm and she was born at 2:27am.  It was such a special moment to find out if she was a boy or a girl.  The doctor told everybody to be really quiet and he placed her face down on my stomach, so we had to turn her over to find out.  I will forever remember that special moment.  This was the smoothest and easiest delivery we have had.  We were both s surprised when they just let us hold her and left her in the room with us after doing everything they have to do.  They didn't even come get her for her bath until a few hours later.  Both Hannah and Evan had to be taken right away and we were not able to hold them until later, so this was new to us.
We are so in love with her and she is the perfect addition to our family!  I am so glad it's a girl, because we still hadn't agreed on a boy name.  We were still discussing boy names as I was in labor and could not agree on one.  I am in love with the name Nora!
We are adjusting quite well to our new normal as a family of 5.  Hannah and Evan both love their little sister......maybe a little too much.  They both want to hold her all the time.  I am surprised by how much Evan is interested in her.  I cannot put her down anywhere without him running over right away and trying to pick her up.  I sure hope the novelty will wear of soon and he won't try to pick her up every chance he gets.  Evan does not act jealous at all when I hold her, but if Scott's hold her he wants to be held by him as well.  He is such a daddy's boy.
Look at that hair!

We did not tell Hannah that she had a little sister until she came to the hospital.  She was super excited to find out it is a girl!
I just realized that we still don't have a picture of the 5 of us.......we need to change that soon
Ready to go home
Big brother holding little Nora.....it's amazing how much he grew up over night.  He is no longer the baby.

This And That

I am just trying to catch up before baby comes (if it ever decides to come). Here is a recap of our last month.

We visited the pumpkin patch a while back on a beautiful and warm Saturday afternoon.
The hayride did not feel great at 8 months pregnant:)
Hannah also went on her first field trip and they went to the pumpkin patch.  I decided last minute to join her class and I am so glad I did.  Hannah did not know I was coming and she was quite surprised when I showed up.  Her favorite part of the field trip was riding the school bus!  She was really surprised that she didn't have to buckle up......she kept talking about that.
Evan had a date with his friend Lynley while the moms went to the field trip
Hannah won the Star student last month.  We surprised her by attending Bash where she received her award!

Hannah and Evan both enjoyed the Fall Festival at Hannah's school.  Here is the tattoo booth that her class was in charge of.
She also participated in the pumpkin decorating contest.  Here is her finished product.  We only had a little hot glue gun accident......
Evan's Olaf costume arrived just in time for the Fall festival.  He was sweating in the costume, because he was running around like a maniac trying to play all of the games......
Scott dressed up for the Fall Festival too
We also went to another Fall Festival for Moms Club and the kids enjoyed a beautiful afternoon outdoors playing a bunch of games.  Evan really enjoyed the corn pit and decided to take a bath in it.

Potato sack races were a favorite for Hannah
We celebrated Calvin's first birthday

During Hannah's October break we visited War Eagle Cavern

The kids had a lot of fun playing in the neighbors leaves during Fall break.......hours of entertainment.  They jumped in them, slid into them from the slide, used the swings to swing into huge piles, buried each other and so on......
Halloween night was freezing cold, but that didn't stop the kids from having a great time trick or treating

On her last day of October break Hannah learned how to ride her bike without training wheels!  We are so proud of her.  It just took a little bit of practice and she was off.......now she wants to ride her bike everywhere.  I only have video of this and for some reason I can't get it to upload....

We put a mattress next to Evan's crib and had Hannah sleep on that to see if that would help Evan sleep better.  Well, it hasn't worked according to our plan yet.  Now Hannah is sleeping in the crib and Evan next to the crib on the mattress, but when he wakes up he just walks into our room and climbs into our bed leaving Hannah in the crib.  She said it is so cozy (she can't even stretch out in it)!  We went to Target today and in the baby section Hannah asked if we would buy her a crib.  This is the same girl that always hated her crib as a baby and has been sleeping in a queen bed since she was 18 months old.

Evan is also in the phase where he wants to do everything on his own including using the potty.  He does not want to use the little kids potty and he refuses me to help him use the big potty. It is quite interesting to see him climb on there and then turn around.  He has actually never used the potty, but climbs up there numerous times a day, gets toilet paper out and flushes the toilet.

This wraps up the month of October!
