Fall Break Fun

The kids had a few days of Fall break couple weeks ago.  I wish we still had the long Fall break we ad with the non-traditional calendar, but 3 days are still better than none.  We ended up going to Branson to see grandma and grandpa and have some fun at Silver Dollar City.

The bigger two kids are not as adventurous when it comes to riding rides.  The littlest one says she would go on every ride if she was tall enough....we will see.
We did ride Fire in the Hole as a family and while they were all a little scared going into it, they all enjoyed it in the end.
They enjoy all of the rides at Fireman's Landing.
Since we have season tickets we tend to just spend 3-4 hours every time we go to the park.
We spent the night at the Landing and met Irv and Jeannie out for dinner that night.
Our kids love hotels!  When you ask Nora about her favorite part of the trip she will say "staying in a hotel".  She even asks to sleep in a crib in hotel rooms and sleeps great in them.  She hasn't let in a crib at home in a loooong time.

The next day we headed to Irv and Jeannie's house and then to Talking Rocks Cavern.  I think cave's are really fascinating.  Nora and Evan were a little bored, but Hannah is at an age where she thinks caves are really cool.

This was called the bacon

We also played putt putt golf at this place.  Evan loves it and he is getting pretty good at it.  Hannah doesn't really care for it and gets frustrated quickly.  Nora just does her own thing with the putter and has fun with it.

The next morning the guys headed to the gold course and the girls to Dogwood Canyon.  It was Evan's first time on the golf course and he did great.  He was very excited to tell me all about it.
He looks so cute on the golf course.......and he got to play on a beautiful course for his first time.

Apparently he was almost run over by some deer......they cam really close to him

We rented bikes at Dogwood Canyon and rode the trails.  Dogwood Canyon got flooded back in April during those record rains and just opened up again a few weeks ago.  They had to rebuild all of the bridges and parts of the trails.  I had never been and I am so glad I finally got to visit.
Nora enjoyed her ride in the bike trailer and Hannah rode the 6 miles on the bike without much complaining :).  We saw lots of waterfalls and some fish.

This was Hannah's favorite waterfall

Nora looked like she was going to sleep most of the ride.....we found out later in the week that she had pneumonia and I think she was already not feeling great that day.  She wasn't feeling the pictures either.
We had lunch with a great view.

After our Dogwood Canyon trip it was time to head back home.

This and That

Today will be a little bit of this and that.
Hannah and I took Nora for her first pedicure.  She was very excited to go, but as soon as a guy came out to do hers she started crying.  She wanted the girl to do hers and not the guy, so she switched with Hannah.  Then she was all about it.

Hannah is a pro at this.

Evan is still into soccer and he was really sad when his season ended last week.  I signed him up for a Winter season at a different place.  My brother sent him a 1. FC Koln soccer jersey.  He is quite proud of it.  It didn't have a number on the back, so he asked if I can sew one on (there will be no sewing, but I did get an iron on number).
Evan played Foosball at the hotel in Florida back in August and he has been asking for a Foosball table ever since.  He said he will give his train table to Nora to make room for a Foosball table.  I found this crafty Foosball table on Pinterest and Scott and Evan built it.
Not the real deal, but pretty good for a homemade craft
Nora's first ponytail.....she looks so different.
Yesterday Nora was messing with the remote to our front gate.  I told her that we don't need to close the gate right now, but she really wanted to close the gate so she told me "I need to close the gate so the birds don't come in".

Scott's company came out with these tri-color grapes and Evan helped to unload a few cases from a truck.

On our weekly trip to the Amazeum Evan and I built a big magna tiles castle......
We went to Branson this week for our Fall break and as we were driving through Branson Evan said "Why do they have all the Bentonville Arkansas flags here, but we are in Branson".  We asked him to point out one of the Bentonville Arkansas flags and he showed us the US flag.  We got that cleared up now :)

We were playing minigolf in Branson and Evan got a 2 on one hole.  He was so excited and jumped up and down and said "I got a hole in two".

And this happened.....
Hannah got some pink highlights.  She had been begging for that, so I finally took her to the salon to get some pink highlights.
She really doesn't want the pink to wash out, so she has been showering with a shower cap on most nights.....

At First Friday they had these bikes for kids to try out and were doing bike races for the bigger kids.  Well, Nora thought she was big enough and squeezed in between the big kids with the balance bike to participate in the race.
They let her race with the big kids and she actually did really well.  She can fly on a balance bike.

Nora has been getting herself dressed and accessorized.
Already turning into a little Diva.  I wanted to put an orange jacket on her the other day and she said it doesn't match her dress.

Another Amazeum magna tile creation.....
