It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas

It's the most wonderful time of the year....and it's looking like this in our house.
We got a real tree this year and I love it.
It is so fun coming home to a decorated home.

The kids started to take ice skating lessons and have improved so much already.

Look who else showed up......he still can't get his landing right and crashed into our Gingerbread house.  He was a little late and didn't show up until this weekend.
Even though we have two kids that know the truth, all three still get excited to search for the Elf in the morning.  Evan laid out all the facts about Santa and the Elf and said it just can't be true (he said not all houses have a chimney, Santa is too big to fit down the chimney, Reindeers can't fly, he also said he knows a flight to Germany is over 10 hours and there is no way Santa can go all over the world in one night).  So, there you have it!

They had to search for this one for a long time.
This one was a fun one this morning.

We were promised snow this last weekend and once again nothing happened.  The weather forecast showed anywhere from 2-11inches last Wednesday and then we go zero.
This is so accurate for our weather forecast:

Last week the kids had their pizza box Spirit night again.  The kids decorated a pizza box at school and then we got to order pizza and pick it up inter boxes.  Such a fun fundraiser!
Evan's box
Hannah's box.....funny that both of them drew a pizza slice

We still have quite a few Christmas activities planned for the next couple of weeks.  We manage to have a lot of fun without all the stress.

Life Lately

Life Lately has included a lot of these kind of moments......
How does she look so old already?

Hannah had a High Tea Girl Scout event and had to dress in her best :)
She wanted her hair curled too.

I had Thanksgiving lunch with both Hannah and Evan at school, but only one of them wanted to take a picture with me....

We spent Thanksgiving in Branson with Scott's family.
The Turkey Trot has now become a tradition.
Can you see my fun turkey pants?

I ran a pretty good 5k, but did not beat my PR.

Our memory maker for this year was a trip to the Bass Pro Shops Aquarium.
We got to see the diving Santa

Cousin time is the best

A little cookie decorating

We went to an Italian buffet afterwards and Hannah was super excited about that.  Grandma took her there for her birthday and she was very excited to return.

We took a family picture......28 people and growing

Nora's doll got a new unicorn outfit and she is pretty proud of that

Last weekend I ran the Frosty 5k....in a snowman suit

It was a really warm day and the suit got pretty hot quickly.  We had a great time running it though.

I have a couple of kid quotes that I don't want to forget.
The kids school had STEAM night (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics) a few weeks ago.  When Evan came home after school he asked if we can please go to smoke night at school.....it took me a little while to figure out what he meant:)

Nora was playing with handcuffs from her Halloween outfit and she handed them to me and said "Mom please arrest my leg".

Four Year

Miss Nora turned four years old a few weeks ago.  Our lives must have been pretty boring before we had Nora.  She is a sweet and sassy and funny little girl.  She is full of personality and not afraid of much.  She keeps us laughing and on our toes at all times.  She likes to be the boss and loves to play with her siblings.  She gives the best morning hugs.  She loves to eat all the foods and says thank you a lot.  She loves to play with dolls and Barbies and her room looks like a Barbietopia explosion most of the time.  She loves ballet class. She has the best curly hair and loves to pose for pictures.

Her birthday table on the morning of her birthday
She opened a few gifts before Hannah and Evan went to school and decided to open the rest after they get out of school.....she may have regretted that decision a few hours later.  She asked about a 1,000 times when they get out of school and when she can open the rest of the gifts.

We went to jump at High Rise in the afternoon and dinner at a Mexican restaurant followed by ice cream.  She had a pretty good day!

The following weekend was her party.  She was so excited for her friends to come.
We rented the Art bus to come to our house.  It was the perfect party for a four year old.  All the girls (she only invited girls and even her brother was not allowed on the bus) did an art project on the bus followed by lunch and cake at the house.
They painted a unicorn
The cake was so pretty and yummy
We had a wonderful time celebrating our big four year old.  She asks all of the time if she can do certain things now since she is 4!
I do love this age and I wish time would slow down just a little bit.
