Favorites

Here are some of my favorite things from the last few weeks.

Muffins with Mom at the Kids school is always a favorite even though it means getting up earlier and standing in line for a Muffin.
You can tell that none of them were too thrilled to take a picture with me though.

After Muffins with Mom we stayed for Bash, because this little Kindergartner got an award.
He received the STAR Student award.

We are very happy with how Evan has adjusted to Kindergarten.  While he still says he is bored (I am pretty sure that's just his way of saying that they are having to do work and are not playing) he gets up and ready with no problems most mornings.

Another favorite of mine was riding our bikes to the 8th Street Market on a beautiful Saturday afternoon meeting some friends and having a few drinks.  It was a hot and sunny October day.

You also can't beat the excitement of the Fire Department showing up......the fire alarm went off in one of the restaurant kitchens.  Apparently that happens quite frequently, because business went on as usual.  The kids got a little tour of the fire truck.

On the last hot day we made a family Pumpkin Patch trip. While it did not feel like Fall out, I am still glad we didn't wait for the colder weather :)
We have been visiting McGarrah Farms since Hannah was a baby.  They have added so many fun things over the years.....

Lots of play time....

A little corn maze time.......and we didn't find the exit :)

Hannah took a picture of Scott and I......
and a selfie.
Then Nora wanted to take a picture of me and Scott, but she didn't realize the camera was still turned to her, so this is what we got:)

And a family selfie by Hannah

Four days later I went on a Field trip with Evan's class to the Pumpkin Patch and we were all freezing.  It got cold overnight.
First up was the Hayride out to feed the cows.

Evan liked feeding the cows tortillas......he didn't mind if they licked his hand.

Next the kids learned about pumpkins followed by a little walk through the corn maze and feeding the goats.

After lunch they had some play time and Evan agreed to take a picture with me.  We were all really cold at this point and headed out shortly after that.

This next one is just too funny not to share.  I needed some PVC pipe for a project and went to Lowe's and asked the guy to cut a 5ft pipe into 4 equal pieces.
This is what he came back with:).  I just said thank you and walked away, because I was about to bust out laughing.
Sooo close :)

This and That

Well, today it officially feels like Fall outside, but up until now we have still been enjoying the pool and the boat.  It is a sad day in our house when the pool cover goes on.
There is something so calming about being out on Beaver Lake.....it is my happy place (that and the Farmers Market on Saturday mornings)

Evan and Hannah are playing soccer this Fall.  We all know Evan loves it and I think we are coming to the conclusion that Hannah is not a big fan.  I think Hannah might be a lot more like me and is not necessarily a team sport player.  She wants to get into Mountain Biking now.

We asked Hannah and Evan the other day how often they raise their hand at school and Evan said he raises his hand all the time even if he doesn't know the answer (that is so like Scott) and Hannah said she only raises her hand if she is 100% sure of the answer (that is very much like me).

Nora started ballet and she loves it.  She practices her first position all the time.  It is so cute to watch her dance.  She tries really hard.

Nora had Cowboy Day at school.....this picture just says "trouble" all over it.
One night I told Nora that it's time to brush her teeth.  She then got on her hands and knees and starting meowing and said "But mom I am a cat, cats don't brush their teeth".  Never a dull moment!

The kids are mighty proud of their Pristine billboard right over by the Walmart Home Office.  We had a fun Grape photo shoot a few months ago with Kate Burris photography and several of the pictures ended up on some Billboards.

There are actually a couple different ones around the country.....

I am still not sure what look Evan was going for with this.....

It's pretty clear we found a good look for Scott with this costume.....

A while back my friend Janina sent me this picture of the Cologne Cathedral and I just love it.  I never get tired of this view.  It makes me miss my hometown.
