Progress On The New House

I just realized that I haven't done a post on the progress of our new house.  We started the new house in mid August and the framing should be completed over the next week.  We have made a lot of decisions lately such as picking out rock, roof color, ordered wood floors and wrought iron ballusters for the staircase.  I am still amazed every time by how many decisions really have to be made when building a house.  Good thing we have done this a few times :) .  I also have a big folder with lots of pictures thanks to Pinterest :).

I also forget every time how small the foundation always looks and then it turns out to be plenty of space.
Up next they built the storm shelter.  It is quite the structure.  I hope it will be safe for earthquakes as well since apparently we get those now in Arkansas. There was a 5.6 magnitude earthquake in Oklahoma last night andwe felt it here.  It was a little scary.  Our entire house shook for at least 10-15 seconds.
Let the framing begin......this is the most exciting part about building a house, because it goes fast and then you actually have a house!
The finished strom shelter
Working on the bottom floor
The stamped concrete (porch and patio).  The color looks very different now that the powder has washed off.
Starting on the second floor
Now on to the roof....

And then Hannah decided to do some dance performance.....
