Fall Break Fun

The kids had a few days of Fall break couple weeks ago.  I wish we still had the long Fall break we ad with the non-traditional calendar, but 3 days are still better than none.  We ended up going to Branson to see grandma and grandpa and have some fun at Silver Dollar City.

The bigger two kids are not as adventurous when it comes to riding rides.  The littlest one says she would go on every ride if she was tall enough....we will see.
We did ride Fire in the Hole as a family and while they were all a little scared going into it, they all enjoyed it in the end.
They enjoy all of the rides at Fireman's Landing.
Since we have season tickets we tend to just spend 3-4 hours every time we go to the park.
We spent the night at the Landing and met Irv and Jeannie out for dinner that night.
Our kids love hotels!  When you ask Nora about her favorite part of the trip she will say "staying in a hotel".  She even asks to sleep in a crib in hotel rooms and sleeps great in them.  She hasn't let in a crib at home in a loooong time.

The next day we headed to Irv and Jeannie's house and then to Talking Rocks Cavern.  I think cave's are really fascinating.  Nora and Evan were a little bored, but Hannah is at an age where she thinks caves are really cool.

This was called the bacon

We also played putt putt golf at this place.  Evan loves it and he is getting pretty good at it.  Hannah doesn't really care for it and gets frustrated quickly.  Nora just does her own thing with the putter and has fun with it.

The next morning the guys headed to the gold course and the girls to Dogwood Canyon.  It was Evan's first time on the golf course and he did great.  He was very excited to tell me all about it.
He looks so cute on the golf course.......and he got to play on a beautiful course for his first time.

Apparently he was almost run over by some deer......they cam really close to him

We rented bikes at Dogwood Canyon and rode the trails.  Dogwood Canyon got flooded back in April during those record rains and just opened up again a few weeks ago.  They had to rebuild all of the bridges and parts of the trails.  I had never been and I am so glad I finally got to visit.
Nora enjoyed her ride in the bike trailer and Hannah rode the 6 miles on the bike without much complaining :).  We saw lots of waterfalls and some fish.

This was Hannah's favorite waterfall

Nora looked like she was going to sleep most of the ride.....we found out later in the week that she had pneumonia and I think she was already not feeling great that day.  She wasn't feeling the pictures either.
We had lunch with a great view.

After our Dogwood Canyon trip it was time to head back home.
