Summer Shenanigans

How is it possible that Summer Break is almost half over?  It feels like the kids just got out of school.  We have had lots of fun and have made great memories.

The kids have had several lemonade stands.  Not my favorite thing to do, but they love it.

We have been crossing things off our summer list....

Hannah went to camp at Climb Bentonville and loved it.  One of the days she was there I took Evan and Nora to climb as well and we stayed 3 1/2 hours.
Evan stood up on top of the cityscape and was pretty proud.
We have gone on lots of bike rides and stopped to put our feet in the creek
Evan is really into mountain biking and wants to go out on the trails all the time.  We usually have Nora with us and she is doing a great job keeping up on her little bike.

We took Hannah on a date to go see Florida Georgia Line at the AMP.  It was fun to spend some one on one time with just her.  She is growing up way too fast.  She loved the concert, but was getting pretty tired towards the end.

I took Evan on a little date and he chose to go Mountain Biking.....it was the perfect date for us

We have had family come to visit, which is always a good time.  We showed Amy and the boys a good time in Bentonville :)
Lots of pool time with cousins

We went to The Berry Farm to pick blueberries and I asked Scott to take pictures with his phone, because I left mine in the car.
Here is the one picture we got.  Ha!
I have been bad at taking pictures this summer too.....thankfully Amy took a bunch during their visit.
We celebrated Irv's birthday with family time at the pool.  It was so much fun to have everybody here for the day.
Even the ice cream truck came for the special occasion and the birthday boy got to go first

Lots of happy kids and adults

One big family

Best picture of the day......grandma is having fun on the slide!

Hannah got some baby snuggle time in and so did I
Evan in his standard pool attire......why oh why?????
Like father like son.....

Nora did another round of swim lessons.  She worked on her side breathing and went the entire length of the pool

Evan completed soccer camp.  It was a hot week for soccer.  He still loves to play and I love to watch him, because he is all in.

Hannah spent a couple of days with grandma in Branson and we met them half way to pick her up.  On the way back home we stopped at the Short Stop, which is known for their giant ice cream cones. I have always wanted to order  large one just to see how big it really is.  They don't joke around, it is way bigger than my head.....

The 4 of us shared it and when we were done it barely looked like we made a dent.

Hannah made another one of her famous cake creations.......a beach theme.  It turned out so cute.

We went to the Blue Hole a few times to fish.  One morning we caught at least 12 fish in 45minutes or so......

The kids do a better job of casting than I do.

On the 4th of July we went out on the boat for a while in the morning and when we got home we told the kids to nap for a bit, so that they could stay up late that night.
This is how Hannah came down after her "quiet time"......she braided all of her hair.

Then she did my hair.  She is so much better at doing hair than I am (and she can do it on herself, which is pretty impressive).

This little dude is a little obsessed with fireworks.  We have to watch him really closely.

We got a late start to our boating season due to all of the rain earlier this Spring/Summer, but we have tried to go out as much as possible in the last few weeks.  The lake is one of my happy places.  It is so beautiful and most of the times when we go its relaxing and calming and peaceful.  We usually go early in the morning or evening to avoid the big crowds.
We had a picnic lunch on the boat.......

I took the kids to the Lake Avalon beach last week, but our stay didn't last very long.  A storm came roaring in out of nowhere.  The sand was pelting us in the face, so we had to get off the beach as soon as possible.  I love this little spot, it is a real sand beach.  You can also rent paddle boards, which I would like to do next time.

Well, now I am all caught up.
Many more adventures to come for this summer.
