Thanksgiving Break On The Beach

We decided to spend Thanksgiving break on the beach again this year.  We did this two years ago and it was so nice.  Our kids love a good all inclusive, so we decided to head back to Cancun.  We have always stayed at the Beach Palace, but decided on the Moon Palace this time and then a few nights at the JW Marriott.  We knew the beach at the Moon Palace wasn't going to be as nice, so we wanted to split our time at two resorts to have the best of both worlds.
The Moon Palace is a wonderful resort and we really enjoyed our stay.  I think our family an especially the kids are partial to the Beach palace, but we had a great time.  The Moon Palace property is huge (and includes three different resorts) and we did a lot of walking.  There was a lot of activities everywhere all day, which kept us all busy.
We ended up doing some type of activity in the mornings and then getting to the pool by noon.
Playing a little putt putt in the morning

The weather was absolutely perfect and we all enjoyed some sunshine.
And a drink at the swim up bar :)
At 4 o'clock in the afternoon it was beach soccer time.  Evan looked forward to that ALL day.  Both girls played every day too.  Ir was pretty much the same people that showed up every day and their favorite was Bob.  He was playing with his granddaughter and he actually coached her team, so he was all into it.  Our kids loved Bob!  On our last day Nora invited him to spend Christmas with us.

Nora also had to practice her handstand in between plays
Scott played a lot too and I just enjoyed watching and walking on the beach :)
At night we visited the Christmas Village at the resort.

The next day we used some of the resorts bikes and rode around for a while (Evan and Nora went into the kids Playroom for this part).  It was a really pretty ride along the boardwalk.

Nora got into a staring contest with this Iguana.  It was pretty funny.
He was just hanging out waiting for food to be left behind......we learned that the hard way.  We had left some of Evan's food while he was going to the bathroom and the Iguana swooped in very quickly.
We had lots of fun pool time.

As you know there is not much relaxing with kids by the pool.  We played lots of games in and out of the water.

Evan was up for anything the resort had to offer.  Here he is trying the FloRider. Ha.
He was not tall enough to try and stand up, so he got to boogie board it.  He had a hard time with it and this older boy behind him in line started to help him out and gave him some tips.  He was very kind.
Then Evan entered one of the silly Pool game competitions.  We had at first told him that he is not big enough, because we mainly saw adults entering it.  Then he realized there were a few kids, so he went for it.  You had to stand on a paddle board that they pulled through the pool and you had to jump over a rope and land on the paddle board again all while people in the pool were throwing water balloons at you.  We though there was no chance Evan could even stand up while they are pulling the board (at this point we had seen a lot of people fall off the board or not even being able to stand up).

Finally it was his turn and he did it perfectly.  It was hilarious and we could tell he was so proud!

Since he made it he qualified for the Final.  He was the only one that made it during the Final, so he won the competition.  Here he is with the hat he won :).  This was for sure the highlight of his trip.
Time for soccer again.

I got up early to work out and the sky was beautiful

After my work out I rewarded myself with a latte.  The lady making its had some amazing latte art skills.
I got another one the next morning
Hannah and Nora got their hair braided.
These ladies did such a fantastic job and they did it so quickly.

Then we moved ob to the JW Marriott.
The beach was amazing.

Were spent most of our time on the beach building castles, making snd ice cream cones and cakes, walking and playing in the waves.

We could not get enough of fun in the sun, water and sand.
We tried to do a couple of photo shoots :)
Hannah and Scott attempted the jumping picture.

Then it was me and Scott's turn......I like look like I am pretending to be a cat:)

 This one is pretty good

Hannah's solo jumping picture and cartwheels

Last family picture on the beach
When we landed back at home it was freezing and raining.  It was a little bit of a shock to the system.
