7 Years

Wow, how is it possible that this guy is 7 years old now.  Time is passing by way too quickly.

Timehop has a way of reminding you how much of a fighter Evan has been.  I say this all the time, but I do believe that his fighting spirit shows in his personality every day.  He had to fight for his life and did not give up.  For example who else plays Monopoly until the very end.  He could have all his properties mortgaged and only have $5 in his hands and he will not give up until he truly is all out of money.  He always thinks there is still a small chance.  That is the fighting spirit that made him pull through and we are extremely thankful for that.
It does get easier every year to look at these pictures and it puts everything back into perspective.  It is almost like a reset button for me and I am reminded not to sweat the small stuff and enjoy every day that we are given.

Timehop also is a reminder that we have aged :).  We do look a lot younger.

OK, back to Evan turning 7.
He was excited to come down to his birthday table.  Nora helped me set it up the night before.

He opened a few presents before school and the rest in the afternoon.

Just another board game that he got from Oma.....this is a game he has played in Germany a lot.  My mom has kept it from when I was a kid and Evan loves to play it when we are over there.  He always wants to bring it back home, but we have never been able to fit it into our suitcases.

Scott, Nora and myself met Evan at school for lunch and then in the afternoon we went out for some ice cream and stayed home playing games.
Evan still loves to play games.  Any games. He loves strategy games and while his strategy is often very interesting and he goes "all in" it usually works for him.  He is not very good at entertaining himself and would like for somebody to play with him 24/7.
He is very creative and will create a game or an Escape Room almost every day.
If he could only put 1/8th of that energy into helping around the house we would be all set.

Evan loves to play soccer and now basketball.  Scott is coaching his team and they are both having a blast.  He is a pretty aggressive defender and Scott couldn't be more proud.

Evan has also enjoyed mountain biking.  He is not scared at all and that scares me just a little bit.  I do get why he likes it, it is one of my favorite things to do.  He went to after school bike club in the Fall and loved it.

Evan is doing good in school.  He has so much energy when he comes home from school.  Sometimes we just make him run laps around the outside of the house.

We celebrated his birthday at Flipside Ninja Park and everybody had a great time.  Now Evan wants to add Ninja classes to his schedule, but we will have to hold off on that.
He only wanted boys at his party, but did let his sisters and Eliza come along :)
This is what I got when I asked for a picture

We gave all boys headbands as a party favor and it was really cute to see them all wear them.
The girls got a cute headband too.

So much fun practicing their Ninja skills.

We ended the party with pizza, ice cream sundae bar and presents.
Evan, we are very proud of you and love you to infinity and beyond.
