Another Book Day and more Summer Fun

The kids love it when we do Book Day.
We picked a perfect Summer book (we have done this one in the past, but changed up all the activities) and made an entire themed day out of it.

Our Agenda for the day.....eating ice cream for breakfast is a favorite

This was a good matching activity for Nora.  She had to first put all letters in alphabetical order and then match the lower case letters to the upper case letters.

I found some Math games appropriate for each of their ages.

The minute to win it type of games were everybody's favorite

I did a little scavenger hunt to find all the supplies to make an ice cream sundae......at one point I forgot where I hid a few of the things.
We got creative with our ice cream cones.

When Scott came home we did all of the minute to win it games again.

The kids did another photo shoot.  Hannah has been working hard on her flexibility and it hurst me just watching her.

Nora wants to copy Hannah

After our hike at Devils Den we decided to rent one of their cabins for a night. It was a nice little getaway, but it sure took a lot of packing for one night......we brought our own bedding and then all the food we would need for 3 meals and that meant our car was loaded to the top.  It was a lot of fun though.
We got there before check in and did one of the hikes....

Once we went to our cabin we realized it is the same one we rented 4 years ago.....

We explored a little bit more around the cabin, then grilled burgers and had s'mores

The next morning we did a couple more hikes.
Evan loves to climb trees.  He had no fear climbing up this giant branch.....

Hannah on the other hand was holding on for dear life......

We decided we need to go back to Devil's Den in the Fall when there will be water in the creeks and the waterfall.
