We have gone on lots of morning walks. This time we found a little teepee and the kids wanted to play Survivor. I love to watch them play together and get along :). Playing Survivor is always something they like to play together.
We got pretty creative this summer.
We set up an Obstacle course. Everything we do in our family is competitive, so this was no exception. It caused a little bit of drama and some injuries :)
We utilized thew entire yard and had lots of obstacles.
A little Limbo....
We timed each other to see how long it would take to complete the entire course and then we tried to beat our own time instead of competing against each other......didn't work that way, but was worth a try.
Spinning in a circle 5 times and then walking the plank.....I was so dizzy after spinning in circles.
HopscotchShooting some baskets
Riding on this little scooter was not easy for me
Fishing and a little mini golf up the ramp.....
Jumping on trampoline and throwing balls into a bucket, followed by a potato sack race and jumping over benches....at the very end we had to go down the slide into the pool and land on one of pool boats and paddle across the pool to the finish line
Hannah is really good at taking the fish off the hook, which is good, because it is not something I enjoy doing.

It was raining a little bit that morning, which was good, because nobody else was at the fishing spot
Next up we made our own bath bombs......for some reason the yellow food coloring is staining everything. Bath tub, towels, clothing that was put on after the bath. Haha. The other colors have been fine so far.
I don't think we will be doing this again anytime soon.
......and some tie dye shirts.
Now this was fun and we all started to rummage through the house find things more things we can dye.
Another hike, another selfie.....
And finally it was time to get ready for school again.....
It was Nora's turn to make a Schultuete for her first day of school. It is a Germany tradition to make a "school cone" that gets filled with treats for the first day of school. Hannah and Evan convinced me that since they hadn't been in school for almost 6 months that it was almost like a first day of school and that they should get a Schultuete as well.....I think it was a pretty fair point, so I let them make a smaller version as well.

Evan and Hannah started a few days before Nora.
First day of school pictures sure look a little different this year.
Notice anything different about Evan?
He is wearing a shirt!
Over the summer they cut off this branch off the climbing tree at the front of the school.....I am sure Evan was part of the reason for them to cut it off:)
After school they were able to get their little surprises.....
Nora's first day was still a few days away, but she wanted to open up her surprise with her brother and sister
And then it was finally her day.....I am still not sure how it is possible. I was really sad the days leading up to her starting, but knowing how excited she was made it easier on the actual drop off day. I do miss my little buddy, but I know she will do great things at school!
She is hardly ever in a bad mood and is just a ray of sunshine.
Silly faces are way more fun than smiling for the camera.
Our school district does have a mask mandate for all ages. The kids have adjusted really well to wearing a mask all day. I think the school district has done a great job at re-opening schools and taken every precaution possible. Just thinking about all of the logistics behind it is stressing me out....
Evan slid this note under Nora's door the night before school started.
And now everybody is asking me what I do all day.....
