Colorado Part 3

Well, I am still working my way through all of the pictures from our Colorado trip.

We booked a private rafting trip for the next morning and we were all really excited to go.  We booked the Upper Colorado Class 2 trip since you had to be 7 years old to go in the Class 3 trip.  It wasn't very far into our trip that the guide said we would have all been ready for a Class 3.  Nora was the first one to volunteer to "ride the bull" at the front of the raft and to do "Rodeo Spins".  To do Rodeo Spins you had to stand open the bow of the raft and hold on to the line while the guide was spinning the raft and changing directions quickly.  It was a lot of fun!

Evan was the first one to fall into the freezing cold water.  He came out again really quickly.  The kids were really set on getting me to fall in while doing the Rodeo Spins, but I held on tight.  Towards the end of the trip I did it again and humored them by falling in.  Oh boy I couldn't get out of the water fast enough.  It was so cold.

We all enjoyed the rafting and had a great time, but would have liked a little more action.  We considered booking a Class 3 for the next day, but the day we were there was the last day they were doing the Class 3 due to the wild fires.

These are the only two picture we got from our guide since we didn't bring phones on to the raft.

The next day we had a Jeep tour booked for the afternoon, so we decided on a hike for the morning.  We found a family friendly trail that started right in the town of Beaver Creek.

The flowers were so beautiful.

We hiked up to this pond and Evan asked if he could jump in and try to catch some fish with his hands......the thing is he probably would have tried if we let him.

I was so happy to get these pictures of Evan and Nora.  They are best buddies.

Our guide came and picked us up from our condo and off we went on a fun afternoon adventure.

It was a very windy afternoon and the smoke from the wildfires was very visible.

We went up a very rugged road to the top and gained quite a bit of elevation.

This is what happens when you let the kids take some pictures

We took lots of Jeep selfies on the way back

I am down to one last day in Colorado.
