Last But Not Least.....

We ended our Colorado trip with the best day.  We were supposed to go mountain biking on our last day in Glenwood Canyon, but due to the wildfires the canyon was closed.  We had to change plans and ended up booking a zip lining tour.  This turned out to be a big adventure and a lot of fun.  It was everybody's favorite activity we did on the entire trip.  I do remember driving by this place on the day of our white water rafting tour and thinking who are these crazy people doing a zip line over the canyon.  I had no idea this is the one we booked.  Ha!

We were all a little nervous, but some of us wouldn't admit it.

We got all geared up and ready for our adventure.

The place we went to had 6 different zip lines and one Cliff jump.  Each line got progressively faster, longer and higher over the canyon.
We ended up buying the pictures that they took.

This little girl did not show any fear.  She was always ready to go first.  She could have gone tandem with one of us, but she did not want that (this was the only zip lining place we found that she could go on her own, on all others the age restrictions was older).

I look a little bit like an Army General in this picture......

Evan loved it too

After the very first run the guide showed us how you can go upside down......well Nora went right for that.
That face says it all......it might just be the best picture of the entire trip

.......I thought it was pretty fun too to go upside down over a canyon

On this one you zipline by this huge pine tree and if you can grab one of the pine cones on your way you win a T-Shirt.  They said more weight would be better because you can get a little lower and closer to the tree, so that was the only reason Evan agreed to go tandem with me.
We did not get a pine cone though.....

Hannah was the most nervous, but she still loved it!

Now I was really going upside down........

It is so hard to tell in pictures how deep this canyon was.......

This was the Cliff jump.....Evan went first

Last run of the day.....the longest and fastest one

It was definitely the highlight of our trip and an incredible adventure.  I still can't believe the kids did this without any fear.  I had one moment where I freaked out a little just thinking about how we are clipped in and if that didn't hold us or if they made a mistake when clipping us in.....but I quickly moved that thought out of my mind.

The girls took a few selfies .....

At night we could really see the glow from the wildfires from our deck

The next morning it was time to pack up and start our trip home.  Since we were going to be stuck in a car for 12 hours + we thought it would be a good idea to get one last hike in.  We took the chairlift back up to Beaver Creek and walked it all the way down.  It was about 4.5 miles down.  There was a little bit of bribing going on.....as in if you don't complain at all on the way down you get to pick out a souvenir.  It worked pretty good.

It was another gorgeous morning out on the mountain

We encountered some pretty steep sections on our way down

After an hour and a half the energy level was dropping quickly.......

.......and everybody was excited to see the town of Beaver Creek
It was a prefect ending to a great family trip to Colorado.  Lots of memories were made.

We were getting ready to stop for gas and a bathroom break on the drive when I told the kids to go ahead and put shoes and mask on, so that we were ready to go.  Evan gets out of the car from the third row and does have his shoes and mask on, but no shirt :)
By the time we rolled into Colorado that night he got out of the car in just his underwear.......
