Spring Break 2021

I can't believe this actually happened.  We got on an airplane during Spring Break.  After both Scott and I were able to get the COVID vaccine in early March we made the last minute decision to travel.

We felt the most comfortable with going to the Caribbean due to their COVID protocols. So, we booked Jamaica for the week.

I have SO many pictures from the trip.  It felt so good and so normal to travel even though there were still a lot of restrictions in place, which we were thankful for.  We had to test before we went and before returning.  Something about testing at a resort while in your bathing suit cover up and the nurses are in full on haz mat suits felt very surreal.....

We traveled on a Monday and the plane was very empty.....

Can't beat this view.

The resort was absolutely dead for most of our stay.  There were more people working there than guests.   It was great for us.  The last day we were there it started to get much busier.
We spent all of our time outside by the beach, the pool or doing water activities such as the slide, paddle board, kayak and the mini catamaran's.  On our last day of the trip I was on page 2 if my book :).  That's how much we actually sat in the chair to relax.  I almost considered brining 2 books on the trip. Ha!

Our first morning we set up on the beach.  It felt so good to put our toes in the sand.  The color of the water was amazing.

We also realized quickly how strong the sun was and we had to lather up every 1 1/2-2 hours.....a couple of us still got a few spots of sunburn, but nothing major.

We loved that the resort was on a bay, so you had calm waters.

Around the corner was the open water, so you could still hear the waves crash and look into the wide open waters.

This is one of my favorite pictures....

I couldn't get enough of the beautiful scenery and took a lot of pictures.

The evening hours by the beach was our favorite time of the day.  Kids playing in the sand and water , drink in hand and watching the sunset.  It was wonderful.

This wraps up our first day.

The next morning we had the Flowrider all to ourselves.....

He was able to do it for a little bit all by himself....

Hannah did great on her own

Lunch by the pool.....they had a Jerk Chicken Hut on the beach and I went there every day.  Jerk chicken with corn on the Cobb.

While things felt very normal, we were also constantly reminded that we are still in a pandemic and the resort did not operate normally and wasn't able to offer all of it's amenities.  We did not mind at all.  They did have a mask mandate and enforced it.
I just took a few pictures of signage to remember these times......

I have so many more pictures that I need to split this up into multiple posts.
