This And That

Today is going to be another catch all post.  Somehow I let an entire month pass without updating the Blog.  We are in the homestretch over here and after today only have 2 days of school left.  How is that possible?  The last few weeks have been really busy with wrapping everything for the school year and sports and trying out/evals/auditions for next season already for all the things....

We spent Easter weekend at grandma and grandpa's house.

Everybody was happy that the Easter Bunny found us in Branson

The kids did a lemonade stand and loved it.

After the lemonade stand we headed over to runtime Goldrush 5k.  We signed up as a family and I kept telling the kids that they need to practice.  We went running one time and did 1 or 1 1/2 miles (can't even remember).  A few days before the race I asked them to run again and they said they would rather go to pick up soccer and get their running in that way.....I was worried this race was going to be a disaster.
The kids all surprised me!  Evan was all in (surprise, I know) and wanted to make sure he beat the kids in his class.  Scott and Evan ran together.  Hannah just put on music and went on her own and I ran with Nora.  I was SO proud of all off them.  Evan finished in 26 1/2 minutes.  Hannah in 29 min and Nora in 32 minutes.  During the last 3/4 mile Nora said "Mom I am going to persevere".  Made me laugh and I asked where she learned that word from.  It was the word of the month at school.  She used it perfectly.
After the race we all deserved some pizza and rode our bikes downtown to Slice.
Such a fun evening.
Kids all sitting in the alley chatting and eating pizza.

Tinehop had shared a picture of Hannah, Ben and Nasty from 9 years ago and we tried to re-create it that night:)

Hannah got inducted into the Junior High Honors Society!

Mother's Day weekend we went up to Kansas City for Evan's first travel soccer tournament.  We left the girls at home, because they both had things they didn't want to miss that weekend.  It was a little bit of a juggling act to make sure they are all taken care of, but we made it work and thanks to everybody that helped take care of them.
Look at these amazing wooden door hangers that his Coach and wife made for the team!
Evan was very pumped to hang it on our hotel room door.

Then they got goody bags as well...
Ready to go!
Coach also gave them these socks for the Sunday games.....

Sunday game was early at 7am!

The boys did great and were competitive.  They made it to the final, but lost! We were all very proud of them.   It was a great weekend with some fun soccer games and friend time.

We hope to go to many more soccer tournaments.

Meanwhile the girls were living their best life!

Hannah had a glow pep rally at school where her dance team performed.  I was able to go watch!

Then we had dance recital and dance banquet!

I had gotten a ticket for myself to go to the banquet, but then ended up leaving town (more on that next time).  So, Scott went in place of me.  I know he was only one if a handful if men run a room full of girls/women.....
