Last Day of School and Club Med Cancun

We are officially 3 weeks into summer break.  I am worn out from driving them around to all of their activities.  Ha.

We had two kids that welcomed the last day of school with open arms and one kid that was really sad about it.  We now have a 2nd grader, 4th grader and 8th grader in the Fall!

Kid #3 is up first.....she was the sad one.  She loves school and being around her friends.

Kid #2 was excited about the last day (he was a little sad).  He has really started to love school over the last couple of years.  It used to be struggle, because he never wanted to go.

He is holding a Wings of Fire book.....his current favorite series of books.
For both Hannah and Evan reading really clicked in 2nd grade and they both love to read and can devour some books....

Kid #1 was very excited for the last day of school.  She does enjoy school, but was ready for summer break.  I can't believe this next year will be her last year before High School.  How is that possible?

Can you tell that they love to take the obligatory last day of school pictures?

The day after school got out we left for Club Med Cancun.  We had to go right away due to Hannah's school dance schedule.  It had been raining for a week straight at home and we were super excited to get to the beach........until we realized we were there during a Hurricane.  Ha!  Thankfully we were not close enough to where it was dangerous, but it rained and rained for the entire week. The first day was decent, but then it really started to pour for hours and it was crazy windy.   We would have a few rain free hours every day and we took full advantage of those few hours.  We did not see the sun, but we were happy with no rain.
We still had a great week and made the best out of it, but it was not a real be a ch vacation.  Maybe that means we need to go back again soon?  We did really enjoy Club Med again even though we didn't get to experience all of they activities they have to offer.

For some reason my pictures are all out of order, so there is a lot of back and forth.

We got to experience the trapeze a few times....Hannah actually got to do a catch and release on the first day, that was pretty cool.  She was definitely a little nervous, but got it perfectly on the first try.

This is Nora with a knee hang.

I love it when we catch a moment like this on camera.....these two are best buddies, but they are also pretty good at fighting with each other:)

Evan took these next two pictures at dinner......he has some skills

Water Polo match......right before the rain came

This cap is pretty stylish :)

There was a reef right at the resort, but we need got to go snorkeling.....the ocean on that side was pretty angry:)

The other part of the resort was on a bay and the water was SO much calmer (it was night and day compared to the other side) and we were able to get into the water on this side whenever the rain stopped

We did a little bit of "pool hopping" on the first day.  The resort is pretty big and we definitely got our steps in.

Now we have another girl that likes to do leg holds on the beach:)

I caught this picture really early in the morning and then 1 1/2 hours later the sky was really dark.....

We got a few nice long walks on the beach in.....

All three kids made some "vacation friends"....all of them were from Texas, so the kids are trying to talk me into a road trip this summer to visit their friends.

Club Med Color Party....pretty fun and then we all ran into the ocean!

We took advantage of the trapeze every time they were a bee to open it.  We were really surprised that they were able to open it, because it was still super windy!

I went few times as well.....it looks so much easier than it is.

The kids got to learn several new tricks....
Nora did the toe hang a lot!

We all enjoyed a little archery.....

....until I broke the string.  ha!

Can you tell that it was just a little windy?

We celebrated Hannah's birthday on our last day there.....we officially have a teenager.

Vacation friends!

I tried to embarrass the birthday girl every chance I got by telling everybody that to was her birthday.

This picture is pretty cool with the dark sky in the background

Hannah got to do the trapeze on her birthday.  She was up on the platform when I told the trapeze team that got was her birthday, so they all started singing Happy Birthday to her......probably not many teenagers that can say that the "circus team" sang Happy Birthday to them while standing on a trapeze platform during a hurricane :)
