Catching up-Colorado

Well, it's been a long time since I have updated the Blog.  Life has been a little busy around here.  Three kids in sports is a lot to manage :). I just looked back on my last few posts and realized that I never posted our Family Colorado trip.  I want to have those memories and pictures in our Blog books, so here we go.....we went to Colorado at the end of July with Scott's entire family.

Due to the girls dance schedule we were not able to go during the exact time that everybody else was going, so we went a few days early and then met up with everybody for a few days before we already had to head back home to resume our crazy schedule :)

We flew to Denver and drove to Salida where we spent a few nights.

Arkansas had been SO hot all summer, so we welcomed the sweater weather!

The next morning we booked a ropes course and had a lot of fun.  It was a beautiful morning with nothing but blue skies.

Getting all geared up

Nora was not supposed to bet able to go on any of the higher levels due to her age, but they realized quickly that there was no stopping that girl (and she met all of the heights requirements)....

Here goes Hannah with her leg hold on the ropes course....

We really enjoyed our morning there.

The next day we booked a white water rafting tour, but I do not have any pictures.
Scott booked the rafting trip and when I looked up the information about our tour I found this....we had to laugh a little.

We were able to do some class III rapids, which was a lot if fun!
We explored downtown Salida some more and then headed to Fun Valley the next morning.

Fun Valley is a very special place for Scott's family.  It is a big campground they visited every year.  We had the entire family come on this trip.
We rented a camper for our stay.  Flying somewhere to go camping is not ideal....we did not have much camping gear with us.  We had given all of our bedding, towels ect. to Scott's parents to bring since they were driving their camper to Colorado.
It rained a lot while we were there, but we still had a great time.
We spent the first day with just Scott's parents and then the next day the rest of the family started to trickle in.....
We went on a hike to visit a waterfall.

Then we stopped at the Continental Divide at 10,857' elevation and experienced a lot colder temperatures.  The enthusiasm to hike again was pretty low, but we somehow made it work.

Here are a few pictures of Fun Valley.  From what I hear nothing has changed in the last 30 years. Haha!

The girls went to play mini golf with grandma while Evan started fishing.
It is amazing to me how much patience Evan has for fishing.  He didn't catch anything for the first few days, but he stuck with it.  There is a guaranteed catch pond, but he didn't want to go there.  He wanted to earn his catches :)

The next morning we headed to Pagosa Springs before everybody started to arrive at the campground.
There are 25 pools/springs at different temperatures.  We definitely tested them all, so it was a lot of "pool hopping" that morning. Not so much relaxing and restoring like it says on their website.  We went from coldest to hottest, with a few dips into the cold river in between.

It was a fun morning.  After lunch we headed back to Fun Valley and all the cousins started to arrive.
