Almost done catching up.....

I made it to January on my last catching up post.  Going to finish today and then hope that I won't take as long of a break again.

Evan turned double digits in January!

Wait, what?  (that's what Nora would say).

It is hard to believe.  I can't help it, but to share these side by side pictures....we are so incredibly thankful that Evan is with us and like I say every year, I believe that everything he went through as a newborn shows in his personality today.  He does not give up on anything and whatever he does, he is ALL in!

The 10 year mark was big for me and I relived every day after his birth with more emotions.  This year was also special, because aunt Allison (who was a huge support for us during Evan's hospital time) gave birth to Maggie on the day that Evan was critically ill and intubated and put into the CVICU 10 years ago.

We happened to be in Kansas City for dance a couple of days later and got to meet sweet Maggie.  Holding a 2 days old baby is magical :)

Back to Evan's birthday now.
He is quite the goofball when it comes to taking pictures.....

He started to play water polo in our pool last summer, so we got him some goals and caps for teams

We went to play laser tag with a few of his buddies.....

....and then dinner

Nora had "dress like an idiom" day at school and wanted to be "a tough cookie"

The girls had their first dance competition of the season in Ft Smith.
This was me the night before trying to get a strap attached to her hat....apparently Nora has a really big head, because the child size hat was only sitting on the very top of her head.
First set of tools....wine opener
....next up s'mores stick
.....knife and sewing kit
......then one of the other moms texted a picture of this.
So simple. Haha
I went the same route, but by the time I got the safety pins through the hat they were so bent that they wouldn't stay shut anymore, so I got the hot glue gun out and glued them shut and on to the hat.  So far the strap has held up.
Both girls really enjoy dance....

Hannah performed her solo for the first time!
She was so nervous.  It takes some guts to get up on that stage all by yourself.....I don't think I would have done that (and obviously still wouldn't do it now :)

Hannah's solo was the first performance of the weekend for her studio....about to go on stage
She did really well!

We got to the competition on Friday for Hannah's solo and Hannah had a few dances on Saturday and then it was finally Nora's turn on Sunday!
This little duet is so cute....

Nora's Company Jazz is "Spice up your life", such a fun dance
Nora is Posh Spice

Her Lyrical dance is called "Look up"

And there is Hip Hip to "Space Jam"....very fun and energetic.  You can tell they are having a blast when performing it

So far the hat has stayed on......

A few pictures from Hannah's solo

Her lyrical called "Leave the Light on", it's a beautiful dance

and this group of girls perform it really well!

"Dive in the pool" is a great Jazz routine....so much Energy

"Dive in the pool" got Encore

And "The Word" got a choreography award!

The weekend was even better, because we saw lots of friends from other studios at the competition

The boys had basketball on Saturday, but came up for the day on Sunday
