Little Getaway

We were able to go on a little getaway to Florida/Alabama in February.  We went to visit Scott's parents who spent every February down in Orange beach.
There is never a bad day when you have this view.

The condo they stay at is on the Florida/Alabama border (right next to FloraBama bar) and the kids thought it was funny that you can just walk back and forth between Florida and Alabama.
We went to the indoor pool every morning and then headed
out to the beach......it was a little chilly, but still a wonderful way to start our little getaway.

There was lots of san castle building and burying kids going on.....

Evan's head is under that towel.....he was completely buried in the sand.
Later that day we went to a bar called The Hangout and they had lots of fun activities outside that kept the kids entertained.  Grandma had told them about the bubbles that they do at the bar every hour and Evan was super excited.
It was more like a foam party than just bubbles:)
This was only the beginning.....

Then it got serious :)
By that point it was getting really chilly out and Evan was soaked, so we had to go to the surf shop across the street to buy him a new outfit.

The next day was rainy, so we decided to go bowling in the afternoon and play some laser tag.
We stopped by FloraBama bar to check it out and came across the Mardi Gras Queen who let Hannah and Nora try on her crown.

In the evening we went out to eat and got some oysters.  Grandma took these pictures of Hannah eating oysters and shared it with the family......

Hannah was determined to get grandma back for these pictures.....more on that later:)
Funny thing is that Hannah actually likes oysters.  This wasn't her first time eating them.

We spent the next day back on the beach again and came up with lots of activities.
Cartwheels....

Volleyball.....

Feeding the seagulls.....
Walking on the beach.....

Posing on the beach.....

The entire time we were there we never saw anybody in the water, because it was really cold.  Except for this guy....he started out just kicking the ball along the water and then eventually just ended up in the water.
He would kick the ball into the ocean and then wait for the waves to bring it back and he was the goalie and dove on the ball.  He was commentating his game the entire time "another epic save by goalie Evan" or"nice shot, but goalie Evan was there for the save".  He did this for a good 45minutes.

And a sand castle. building competition....
Girls built a nice pretty castle....

Boys did a pooping sea turtle (notice the seaweed).....

Then we played the Clubine Olympics and came up with lots of different relay races....this is the part where Hannah was trying to get grandma back with a silly picture and she was so proud when she succeeded:)
We had to spin around in a circle during part of the race and then run back.....
And Hannah asked her to make a silly face....

Lunch on the beach is always a wonderful treat.

On our last day we went back to FloraBama to play Bingo.
Guess who won?
She won a gift certificate to a local restaurant that she then sold to grandpa:), a frisbee and a medal from a 5k race last year.  Haha!  She was pretty excited about it all.

Lunch at Tacky Jack's

We had a great trip and enjoyed spending tine with Irv and Jeannie!
