February Update

 After being home for 12 days due to ice and a snowstorm we are all back in a routine now.  It was fun for a while, but I think we were all ready to get back to school. We had record breaking low temperatures, so playing outside was limited.  It only took 30min to get everybody dressed for the temperatures and snow:)

I saw this fun idea of a glow in the dark scavenger hunt, so we did that one night.

Scott and I set up 3 different types of scavenger hunts/puzzles that the kids had to do in the dark.  It was a lot of fun.

We did Clubine Family Squares for the Super Bowl.  

We all know the game didn't go our way, but we still had fun watching the game.

The kids made some Chiefs decorations that we hung up around the house.  

Evan and Nora are back to playing a lot of Army Men.  Evan's room looks like this most of the time.

For Valentine's Day I planned a Family Date at home.  First up was the check in for an Escape Room.....included was a welcome drink.

I purchased an Escape Room kit on Etsy.  

Evan was all in.  Hannah didn't have much interest and Nora got bored after a while.  Ha!

Scott and I enjoyed it.

It was a pretty tough one, but we did manage to complete all missions (with several breaks).

I set up a restaurant for dinner and made everybody's favorite.....Lasagna. 

This was another idea I found online. The restaurant was called Cupid's Cafe and the menu looked like this:

Everybody selected their numbers for appetizers, main dish and dessert, but they had no idea what each number represented.  One of the numbers was utensils, one was dessert,  a drink, a napkin, bread, salad and fruit....so you didn't know what you end up with at each course.  The kids loved it.  Nora had dessert for an appetizer and Hannah had to wait for her utensils until the dessert course :)

We have played a lot of Poker at our house......maybe a little too much.

Evan has set up a Poker table.  It is so funny to see their personalities shine through.....you can take a wild guess on how Evan plays Poker ????  You guessed right, he is all in.  He bluffs about 90% of the time :). Hannah is very conservative and will squeal if she gets a good hand.  ha!

Nora is usually in, but will fold when she is not sure (she does ask for help).

We made some snow ice cream for breakfast....

Wind chill was -22 last week and today it is 73 degrees......
