Catching up a little bit more today.
Both girls have enjoyed dance competition season. This is Nora's first year and Hannah's second.
I can tell you that Nora loves the stage. Currently she wants to be a dance choreographer when she grows up. She makes up dances every single day.
For the first competition we went to Ft Smith and due to basketball for Evan we made it a girls trip. It was fun to share this time with the girls. We had to straighten Nora's hair the night before competition.....it looks so long
And I found this gem of a picture on my phone
Seeing the girls bond over dance has been fun.....Hannah tries to teach and help Nora with some technique, which usually doesn't go over so well....she has also been a huge help to me by doing Nora's hair and make up. She is so much better at to than me. We are polar opposites when it come to make up and hair....
The stage make up makes her look so old and grown up.
"I'm a Bee" is her Tap dance
"I've Got Money" is her Hip Hop dance
And "Diamonds" is her Jazz routine
This is a picture of Hannah's Tap group
Nora with her "Big"
Dance competition weekends can be long now, since the girls compete in different age groups. Nora was done for the weekend, but Hannah still had several dances left.
We brought some games to entertain ourselves
Hannah in her "Confident" costume
This is their "Rumble" costume
We got this picture from the boys....
Hannah and Caroline placed second in their duet!
A few of the "official" Masquerade pictures
I just realized that I never posted anything about Evan's 9th birthday.....can't have that. So, here we go all the way back to January 14th. Evan turned 9 years old. Not much has changed with Evan. He is still going with the flow and is up for anything. He still won't give up in anything he does and is very competitive. He continues to love board games, basketball, football and soccer. He loves to read and that is about the only time he actually sits still. Currently he is into the "Wings of Fire" series.....he has also read every Alan Gratz War book.
Just another game.....
We are so blessed to have him and we know that he will do great things! He is very smart, thinks very logically and outside of the box.
Hannah and I did a Mother/Daughter date with her friend Pearson and her mom Kourtney. We went to a painting session and had a great time.
It was a great afternoon and I can't wait to do it again
Since Valentine's Day fell on a Monday this year we decided to celebrate it on Sunday, which was also Super Bowl Sunday.
So, we combined Super Bowl and Valentine's Day!
Girls were required to dress up "fancy"
Check in table for the "Cupid's Cafe"
This is our second year to do the Cupid's Cafe for Valentine's Day....I think we are going to make it a tradition.
Everybody has a menu and has to chose what # they want for Appetizer, Main Dish and Dessert without knowing what each # represents.....
Here you can see what each # represented......so, if you chose #7 for your appetizer you would actually get dessert first and if you didn't chose #1 until your dessert then you didn't get a fork until dessert time....On Valentine's Day we still had a little Donut surprise in the mornings
Evan and Nora were excited to celebrate 2-22-22 at school by wearing a tutu, tie dye and a tie
we made a shirt with 150 gumballs
We made it together with her friend Caroline and they were going to be matching
And then on the day she was supposed to wear it, this happened.....she was home sick with a fever. She was pretty upset and then I got a text from Caroline's mom that morning that Caroline was sick as well.
