I am wrapping up our Germany trip today. I can't believe we have been back home again for a week today. It all just went by way too fast.
Nora went to school for an entire day with her cousin Annabelle. I didn't think she would want to stay the entire day since she was in a different country and doesn't even speak the language, but I was wrong. She wanted to go for the entire day and had a great time. Nora is a pretty easy going child and is always up for anything. I told her that she was pretty brave for doing that.....
We went to Bubenheimer Spieleland one afternoon and my mom and two of my nieces came with us. It is a huge outdoor play place with playgrounds, different types of slides (water ride , wave slide act), trampolines, zip lines, soccer fields ect......we had so much fun. These are the only pictures we got.
We had the best weather all week. We went on another adventure to visit a castle. It was a little bit of a drive (which the kids weren't super excited about), but very worth it and we had a great day.
We went to Cochem on the Mosel river.
This is the castle we walked up to.....
Hannah wasn't in the picture taking mood that morning

It was a little bit of a steep trek up to the castle....
We had been to this town/castle before with Jenny and Dave.....long time ago. We stopped at this wine place and sampled and bought lots of ice wine.
This area is a wine region.....that's where Riesling wine is from
We had some great views from the castle.

We did a guided tour through the castle....
The knights armor was everybody's favorite.....
Inspired by the knights armor we bought some wooden swords, bow and arrow and shields as a souvenir....Evan and Nora played with those for hours. They came up with a game.
Then it was time for a little lunch....
Over the weekend we celebrated Sophia's Baptism. It was a beautiful afternoon. I did not get many pictures. After church we went back to my brothers house for cake and a delicious dinner.
Here is proof that we do clean up pretty well....
The next day was our last full day in Germany. Scott and I went on a really nice walk through the city in the morning.
Then we all headed to my brothers house for Annabelle's 7th birthday.
Hannah made a birthday cake for Annabelle.
My sister in law planned this cute scavenger hunt for the birthday party. Hannah agreed to be the fairy at the end of the scavenger hunt holding the treasure chest :)
We flew out of Frankfurt early the next morning. We took a train that night, so that we can already be at the airport. It was time to say our good byes and it was very sad. We had lots of crying kids. It was sad, but it also made me so happy, because this meant they loved the trip and loved spending time with family. Nora cried for a good portion of the 1 hour train ride.
We spent the night at a hotel at the airport and had a less than 10min walk in the morning to the check in counters. It took out a lot of the early morning travel stress:). We had a smooth trip back with no issues (we don't take that for granted anymore).
Hopefully we will get to back again very soon!
